（1）特殊疑问代词who, what, which和特殊疑问副词when, where, how 等后加动词不定式构成动词不定式短语，可以在句中作主语，宾语，表语等成分。

When to start is still a question.

The problem is how to find them.

疑问词和不定式连用作宾语时，可把这种结构改为宾语从句。

He didn’t know how to do it.= He didn’t know how he would do it.

She doesn’t know what to write.= She doesn’t know what she will write.

You’d better ask when to leave to have the party.= You’d better ask when we’ll leave to have

the party.

She will tell you which bus to take.= She will tell you which bus you should take.

III. Reading comprehension

It was very crowded and he had to stand for about five minutes. Then some of the passengers got off. Paul sat down next to a fat lady. She had several shopping bags and Paul didn’t have much room on the seat. At last the bus got to the town. All the passengers started to get off.
